Cytokinesis biology definition
WebCytokinesis is a mechanical process during which a cell undergoes major mechanical deformation. Thus, an in-depth understanding of the effects of mechanical signals on cell mechanics and biochemistry is required. A diverse tool set is available to study cell mechanics during cytokinesis, allowing characterization of various mechanical parameters. WebCytokinesis is the division of cells after either mitosis or meiosis I and II. During cytokinesis, the cytoplasm (the liquid center of the cell that holds the organelles into place) splits into two equal halves, and the cell becomes two daughter cells. This occurs right after the beginning of anaphase (in mitosis and in meiosis I and II).

WebJun 11, 2024 · Cytokinesis is the process by which a cell divides its cytoplasm to produce two daughter cells. As the final step in cell division after mitosis , cytokinesis is a carefully orchestrated process that signals the start of a new cellular generation. The separation of one cell into two is accomplished by a structure called the contractile ring.
