WebAug 3, 2024 · Most of the Chittenden Trail on the north side of Mt Washburn is on a dirt/gravel road quite a few areas in full sun. The Washburn Trail on the south side of Mt Washburn follows a very old wagon trail up to the fire lookout. It is switchbacks all the way up with more areas with shade.
